Zante Sun Travel · Laganas, Laganas Bay

The glass-bottom speedboat

Zante Sun Travel's boat is a hybrid: quick between stops, with a glass floor for the slow part, and it starts with the turtles before anything else. Pick it for the price and the order of the day, as long as you're staying in Laganas or Kalamaki, the only places it picks up.

Glass-Bottom Speedboat: Turtles, Keri & Myzithres

About this experience

At $28, this is the lowest from-price for a turtle trip on the bay in 2026. You get a new glass-bottom speedboat that's quick between stops and slows down for the turtles. The day runs the opposite way to most: turtle spotting comes first, then a swim at Marathonisi's Golden Beach, about 20 minutes at the Keri Caves and 20 more at the Myzithres rocks.

Turtles first means you're not watching the clock to get to a beach. A guest wrote that "ending the tour with plenty of time to watch the turtles" was the best part, so the order may vary by departure. Either way, turtle watching has rules: the 2018 code allows two boats per turtle and 10 minutes each, from at least 15 m.

The listing is thin in places. The itinerary barely goes beyond pickup and drop-off, the guide's languages aren't listed, and it includes food and drinks while also telling you to bring your own. Bring water and a snack anyway. At Keri the boat goes into the larger caves when the weather allows. And pickup is Laganas and Kalamaki only: from anywhere else, the Best of Zante glass-bottom boat has a wider pickup area.

Tips before you book

  • Bring a hat, towel, camera and some food and drinks. The listing asks for them, even though food is included.
  • Check your hotel is in Laganas or Kalamaki before you book. Nowhere else is covered.
  • Ask which way round your departure runs. Turtles first or last changes when you'll want the camera ready.
  • Pack water shoes for Myzithres. The beach there is pebbles.
  • The boat only enters the larger Keri caves when the weather allows. On a windy day, expect the outside view.

Frequently asked questions

What is a glass-bottom speedboat?

A fast boat with a glass panel in the hull. It runs quickly between stops, then slows down so you can watch the seabed through the floor while you look for turtles at the surface.

Is this the cheapest turtle trip on Zakynthos?

Of the trips we cover, yes: from $28 per person in 2026. The Best of Zante glass-bottom boat costs slightly more but picks up over a wider area.

Where does it pick up?

Hotels in Laganas and Kalamaki only. If you're staying elsewhere, you'd need to get to Laganas yourself or pick another trip.

Can I swim with the turtles on this trip?

No. You swim at Marathonisi, Keri and Myzithres. ARCHELON asks visitors not to swim with, touch or feed turtles; our swimming guide explains the rules.
