Dali Tours Zakynthos · Laganas Bay and Keri

A half day on Turtle Island, with olive oil

Dali Tours turns the turtle boat into a half-day outing: a van from your hotel, a stop at Cameo Island, a glass-bottom boat to Marathonisi and the Keri Caves, and a tasting at a working olive oil press on the way back. Pick it if you'd rather not organise anything, or if half the group cares more about the island than the sea.

Half Day: Turtle Island, Keri Caves & Olive Oil

About this experience

This is the only trip on the list that's more than a boat ride. Dali Tours collects you from your hotel, anywhere within about 10 km of its office, from Kalamaki and Laganas to Argassi and Zakynthos town, and drives you to Cameo Island for half an hour of photos, a short swim or a drink. Then comes the boat: a glass-bottom cruise through the marine park, an hour on Marathonisi and a swim at the Keri Caves.

The listing description says a 3-hour cruise where you may spot turtles. The itinerary is more precise: about an hour in the park, an hour on Marathonisi and 30 minutes at Keri. We like the honest "may". Loggerheads come up to breathe and dive again, and a glass floor helps you see the seabed while you wait. On the way home there's a 30-minute stop at the Aristeon Olive Oil Press for a tasting, a real change of pace after the sea.

Two things to check. Cameo Island's entrance is on the inclusions list, but the description mentions EUR 5 extra, and the islet's standard fee is EUR 5 for adults. Bring cash and ask when you book. And there are no toilets on the boat or on Marathonisi; the driver stops before boarding. At five hours, it costs about twice as much as the shorter boat-only trips, so book it for the convenience, not as a bargain.

Tips before you book

  • Bring euros in cash. You may need EUR 5 for Cameo and a few more for snacks on Marathonisi.
  • Wear your swimsuit under your clothes. There's nowhere to change on the boat.
  • Use the toilet stop before boarding. The next one is back on land.
  • Towels and snorkels are supplied, so you can travel light.
  • Ask at the press about buying a bottle. Local oil is one of the better things to take home from Zakynthos.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cameo Island included on the Dali Tours half day?

The stop is, but the entrance fee is unclear: the inclusions list it, the description says EUR 5 extra. Cameo's usual fee is EUR 5 for adults. Bring the cash in case, and ask Dali Tours when you book.

Possibly. The listing itself says you may spot them, and most boats in the bay do see at least one, guests report. Nobody can guarantee it. See our guide to where the turtles are.

Are there toilets on the boat or on Marathonisi?

No to both. The driver makes a toilet stop before you board.

Where does the half-day tour pick up?
